Vandervort of Kenosha, died Sunday, April 13, 2008. He was born August 11, 1928, in La Crosse to Leon and Adele (Ryckmen) Vandervort. A gifted musician, he was the organist at the Methodist Church in Tomah and graduated from the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in 1947. He entered the Air Force in 1948, and served as the Chaplain’s Assistant and organist. After his discharge, he entered medical school, graduating in 1960 from UW-Madison Medical School. He worked as a psychiatrist in Madison and Rockford, IL, before opening a psychiatric practice in Kenosha in 1973. He moved to Milwaukee in 1985 and continued to practice until he retired in 1992. He returned to Kenosha in 2007. Glenn shared his love of classical music with all who were near to him. Family and friends were often treated to Glenn’s impromptu recitals. He was a great cook and enjoyed bringing his homemade treats to all sorts of occasions. His fresh insights and wisdom will be missed by his family and many dear friends. Glenn is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Scott Mingilino of Kenosha; daughter Beth Vandervort of Milwaukee; former wife Ruth Vandervort; grandsons Daniel Glenn Mingilino and David Vandervort Litton; siblings DeVere Vandervort and Laura Lee (Hal) Wahl; niece Susan (Tom) Ladner; nephews Tom (Debbie) Wahl and Rick Wahl; and close family friend Bill Evans.
