Descendants of Johann David "John" Thurow

Johann David “John” Thurow and his wife, Henrietta Dorothea Ehlert, were born in Prussia in the early-1800’s. They emigrated to America in 1869 with their son, Friedrich Johann “Fred” Thurow, and his wife, Amelia Zarling, and settled in Clifton Township.

Fred and Amelia’s children married into families such as Krause, Pingel, Waege, Liersch and Schoot.
All of the original Thurow families in Monroe County descend from John and Henrietta.
