Ellen Melissa WORDEN was born on 29 March 1853 in Chautauqua County, NY.^2,3,11,12 She appeared in the census in 1860 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵ She appeared in the census in 1880 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.¹¹ Ellen appeared in the census in 1900 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.¹² She appeared in the census in 1910 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.¹³ She appeared in the census in 1930 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁴ Ellen died on 14 March 1936 at the age of 82 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^2,3,9,15 She died of blood poisoning. She was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Ellen Melissa WORDEN and Daniel "Dan" HARP were married on 6 July 1873 in Lincoln Township, Mitchell County, IA.^3,12,16,17 The 1910 Census indicates that they had 3 children, of which 1 was still living at the time. Daniel "Dan" HARP, son of John HARP and Eva MILLER, was born on 5 May 1849 in Henry County, IL.^3,11,12 (He may have been born in McHenry County, IL.) He appeared in the census in 1850 in Chemung Township, McHenry County, IL.¹⁸ He appeared in the census in 1860 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵ Dan appeared in the census in 1870 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁹ He was living with his parents. He appeared in the census in 1880 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.¹¹ He was listed as "David" and his household consisted of his wife Ellen, age 27; and their daughters, Eva U., age 4; and Ada J., age 9/12. He appeared in the census in 1900 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.¹² His household consisted of Dan; his wife, Ellen; and their daughters, Ada and Della. Dan appeared in the census in 1910 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.¹³ He and his wife were living by themselves. He appeared in the census in 1930 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁴ He died on 19 October 1937 at the age of 88 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.^3,15 Dan was a farmer in Kirby, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁰ He was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^3,9 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

The 1900 Census lists her birth date as either Sep 1877 or Sep 1879 (not clear). Her gravestone listed her as age 21 years 5 months 20 days, calculating to a birth date of 8 Sep 1879. She appeared in the census in 1880 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.¹¹ (She was listed as "Ada M.") She appeared in the census in 1900 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.¹² She was living with her parents. Ada died on 23 February 1901 at the age of 21 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.^3,15,22,23 (According to John Rector's research of the Worden family, she died 28 Feb 1901. Her gravestone says: "Ada May daughter of D & E Harp died Feb 23 1901 aged 21 y 5 m 20 d.") She was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^15,22,23 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
