Her surname was spelled "Bakehaus" in her obituary.) She was baptized on 21 April 1872 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.22 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She appeared in the census in 1880 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.12 Millie was confirmed on 18 April 1886 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.22 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She appeared in the census in 1900 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.8 She appeared in the census in 1910 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.21 Millie appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.49 She died on 9 December 1947 at the age of 75.39 Obituary Notes: "Emile Caroline Ida Bakehaus-Martini was born on March 6, 1872, in the town of Adrian, Monroe County, Wisconsin, and had lived in this community all her life. She was united in marriage with Otto Bartels and two children were born to this union, one of whom preceded the mother in death. Her husband also preceded her in death. In 1918 she came to Tomah and made this city her home until the time of her death. On June 4, 1925, she was united in marriage with John Martini of this city, who survives. On Saturday morning, Dec. 6, she suffered a paralytic stroke and, while hope for her recovery was entertained for a time, her condition became steadily worse and on Tuesday evening, Dec. 9, 1947, she passed away at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 3 days. Surviving are her husband, John Martini; one daughter, Mrs. Harry Benjamin; a step-daughter, Mrs. Grace Matthews; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. John Bartels, all of Tomah, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Eunice Sonnenberg of Wilton, besides many other relatives, neighbors and friends. Funeral services were at St. Paul's Lutheran church on Friday afternoon, Dec. 12, at 2 o'clock, the Rev. H. Schaller officiating. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery."
