He emigrated on 16 August 1892 from Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein Province, Preussen (Prussia).2 He appeared in the census in 1895 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.7 His household consisted of 5 males (him and four sons) and 1 female (his wife), of whom 1 was born in the United States and 4 in Germany. (His surname was spelled "Frieskey.") William appeared in the census in 1900 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.8 His occupation was "Day Laborer." He appeared in the census in 1910 in Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.4 He and his wife were living with their son Ferdinand and his family. He died on 28 February 1917 at the age of 82 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.5,6 William was buried in 1917 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.5 in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery. Her surname is listed as "Podolsky" in FamilySearch.org.)) She died about 1861 at the age of 27 in Wisconsin.1 (It is assumed that she died before Wilhelm married Paulina Heller in October 1862, but they may have divorced.) (Her surname is spelled "Krumsey" in FamilySearch Person Tools. That is believed to be incorrect.)
