Alven LAMB Sr. was born on 27 May 1777 in Augusta, Oneida County, New York Colony, British Colonial America.5 Alven was a good mechanic and worked hard but was too free-hearted for his own good. He worked for Capt. Jape Smith in Charlton, MA from the age of 16, then worked in Worcester MA, and removed to Augusta NY abt 1795. He had light sandy hair and a light complexion, and was said to resemble his brother Joshua. He built a number of houses and barns. He traded his house for 5 acres of leased land and in 1804 purchased 20 acres at Columbus Corners with money furnished by Joshua. He lived in a log house while building a house on that property. Joshua furnished the materials and they took joint deed. At his death his estate was $130, which his children inherited. The money was put into Joshua's care and when the children came of age he paid them $130 BIOGRAPHY: Sources of Pat Lamb: Alven LAMB Sr. and Prudence GREENLEAF were married on 3 September 1799 in Augusta, Oneida County, NY.8 Prudence GREENLEAF, daughter of Israel GREENLEAF and Prudence WHITCOMB, was born on 19 February 1778 in Bolton, Worcester County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America.8 She died on 6 October 1851 at the age of 73.
