170. Edna D. SCHUEMAN was born on 28 October 1901 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^56,58 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴³ She died on 17 June 1936 at the age of 34 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^18,56 Obituary Notes: "Funeral services for Mrs Edna Marten, who passed away last Wednesday, were conducted from St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran church on Saturday afternoon. Rev. H Schaller officiating. Interment was in Oak Grove cemetery.

Edna Schueman was born October 28, 1901, at Tomah and had spent her life in this community. On November 26, 1922 she was united in marriage with Elmer Marten at Tomah. Six children were born to this union,all whom survive.

For some time Mrs Marten had been afficted with attacks of gallstones making an operation necessary. She survived the operation, but an embolism or blood clot in the heart, resulted in her sudden death on Wednesday, June 17, 1936, at the age of 34 years, 7 months and 20 days.

Mrs Marten is survived by her husband: Elmer Marten, her six children: Rueben, Robert, Raymond, Bernita, Viona and Gladys. Her parents: Mr and Mrs John Schueman, her grandmother: Mrs E. Behrens Sr., two brothers: Ernst and Henry Schueman, three sisters: Mrs Geo.E.Pingel, Mrs Walter Pingel and Miss Doris Schueman all of whom reside in this community." Edna was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^56,58 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

SCHUEMAN and Elmer Wilhelm MARTEN were married on 26 November 1922 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^2,17,18,56 Elmer Wilhelm MARTEN, son of Christian David Wilhelm MARTEN and Caroline DEICHLER, was born on 1 August 1901 in Wisconsin.^25,58,177 He was baptized on 1 September 1901 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁷⁷ He appeared in the census in 1905 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁴ Elmer appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁵ He appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴³ He died in 1978 at the age of 77.^27,58 Elmer was buried in 1978 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵⁸ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
