3. Johann "John" NEAS Sr. was born on 21 April 1823 in Laskownica, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).^1,2,3,4,5,6 Laskownica was near Mieczkowo, where he eventually lived.

According to the research of Dr. Sandor Krause, Johann was a brother of Sandor's great-grandfather, Friedrich Wilhelm Neas, 1835-1871. Sandor located a copy of Johann's birth certificate, which indicated that his parents were Andreas Neas (abt. 1795-27 Feb 1863) and Anna Dorothea Schutt (2 Feb 1801-17 Jan 1886).

(The FamilySearch.org website lists his birth date as 24 Jun 1822.) He was baptized on 23 April 1823 in Smoguletz, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).¹ in the Catholic church. He emigrated in 1872 from Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).² John died on 12 July 1884 at the age of 61 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.^2,3 He was buried in Jacksonville, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ in the Mount Vernon Cemetery.

Johann "John" NEAS Sr. and Friederike Henriette KIETZMANN were married on 7 December 1851 in Exin, Kreis Schubin, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).^2,4,8,9 in the Lutheran Church.

From an article written by Leola Gamerdinger in the Monroe County (Wisconsin) Heritage Book: "My great-grandparents, Johann, 1823-1884, and wife, Fredereke Henriette Tietzman Neas, 1830-1919, with their family, came to the United States, 1872, and bought a farm, Township Adrian, Monroe County. Born in Posen, Germany, children were: Auguste, 1852, married Frederich Eckelberg; Frederich, 1857--1926, married Emilie Zellmer, 1857-1926, who were my grandparents, Emilie came in 1879; Emilie, 1859-1952, married Frederich Rosenow, 1855-1954; Mathilda, 1865-1950, married Morris Jackson, 1856-1925; Emma, 1874-1947, married William Wagner; John died on the way over at about age two, and was buried at sea."
Friederike Henriette KIETZMANN, daughter of Peter KIETZMANN and (Unknown) UNKNOWN (KIETZMANN), was born on 2 July 1830 in Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).^2,3,4,10,11 (The FamilySearch.org website lists her birthdate as 2 Feb 1830.)

(Her surname was listed as ""Tietzmann" in the church marriage record of her daughter Emilie, but as "Kitzmann" in the baptism record of her daughter Emma. The research of Sandor Krause lists it as "Kietzmann.") She emigrated in 1872 from Preussen (Prussia).¹¹ She appeared in the census in 1910 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.¹² She was living with her son Fred and his family. Friederike died on 24 January 1919 at the age of 88 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.^2,3 She was buried in Jacksonville, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ in the Mount Vernon Cemetery.

He was buried in Exin, Kreis Schubin, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).⁴ in the Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Ernestine Emilie NEAS was born on 5 August 1856 in Mieczkowo, Kries Schubin, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).⁴ She was baptized about August 1856 in Exin, Kreis Schubin, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).⁴ She died on 7 February 1857 at the age of 0 in Mieczkowo, Kries Schubin, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).⁴
