Achsah RICHARDSON and Erastus A. ABBOTT were married before 1798.^27,57 Erastus A. ABBOTT was born on 5 April 1766 in Tolland, Tolland County, CT.^57,58 About 1790 he was .⁵⁸ He was a Blacksmith, specializing in Specialty Hand-Wrought Nails. He died on 5 May 1855 at the age of 89 in Clearport, Madison Township, Fairfield County, OH.^27,57,58 Life Sketch: "Erastus Abbott was born In Tolland, Tolland, Co., Ct., April 5th 1776 and probably married in Burlington Vt., Achsah Richardson, whose father probably lived near Manchester Vt.

After his first wife's died, Erastus married again on the "Western Reserve", in Ohio, Lucretia______, who is supposed to have had died in Portage Oh, by whom it is said he had a son and daughter whose descendants' whereabouts are unknown to any living descendants located.

About 1818 , he moved from someplace in Vermont, probably Burlington, to Cleveland Oh, resided in various places, but finally, in his old age, lived with his son Oren, in Clearport, Fairfield Co., Oh, where he died 5 May 1855 age 89 years.

He was a very religious man and had a very retentive memory. It is said "he read the Bible through 72 times" and could invariably tell without apparent hesitation from what book, chapter and verse, any sentence was, when read to him.

He was a blacksmith, his specialty being wrought iron nails, which were made by hand in his day."

Erastus was buried in Clearport, Madison Township, Fairfield County, OH.⁵⁸ in the Clearport Cemetery.
