He appeared in the census in 1870 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴ He appeared in the census in 1880 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.² His occupation was listed as "Farmer." William died on 10 December 1884 at the age of 64 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.^5,6 He was not listed with his wife and family in the church Communion Records in 1889.

Wilhelm Friedrich "William" SCHMASOW Sr. and Louisa "Louise" THIEMANN were married about 1855.^6,7 Louisa "Louise" THIEMANN was born on 11 April 1837 in Hannover Province, Preussen (Prussia).^2,4,8,9,10 (Her surname was listed as "Thismann" in the baptism record of her daughter Anna, as "Thiemann" on the record of her sons Friedrich Wilhelm and Ernst and in the church Family Register, and as "Hinemann" in the baptism record of her son Friedrich August. It was believed to have been "Thiemann.") She appeared in the census in 1870 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴ She appeared in the census in 1880 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.² Louise was Lutheran in 1889 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵ She and her family were listed in the Communion Records of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in the early-1890's. She died on 17 April 1895 at the age of 58 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.^9,11 She was buried on 20 April 1895 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^9,11 in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.
