Her husband, who also was injured in the mishap and was a patient in the hospital, was able to return to the home of one of his children in East Alton today.
Mrs. Vroman had been in ill health for many years and was unable to recover from shock of the accident. Mr. and Mrs. Vroman, who have been residing the past two years on a farm near Hettick, were en route to East Alton for a weekly visit with their children, Truman, manager of the Kroger Store, East Alton; George, proprietor of Vroman's General Store, and Vernon, an employee of Western Cartridge, Co.; at the time of the accident.

The mishap, a collision of cars at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Amelia street, Alton, resulted in both Mr. Vroman and his wife being thrown out of their automobile. Both suffered body bruises and shock. Mrs. Vroman's condition had been serious since the accident and the past few days had been critical.
A son, Hilbert of Madison, Wis., who is a service manager of a Sears, Roebuck, and Co. store there, had arrived in East Alton shortly after the mishap because of the critical condition of his mother, and other children have also been in attendance at her bedside.

Mrs. Vroman had been a member of the First Baptist Church, East Alton, for many years and was active there in work of the women's organization.
Surviving in addition to her husband and sons, Truman, George, Vernon and Hilbert are a daughter, Mrs. Edward Bowen of Brighton; two brothers, Charles Eyers of Oshkosh, Wis., and Edward of Bunker Hill; a sister, Mrs. Edwin Johnson of East Alton and seven grandchildren. A son, Oren, preceded her in death.
