3. Johann Wilhelm Gottlieb "William" WAEGE was born on 25 September 1850 in Preussen (Prussia).^1,3,6 (The 1880 Census indicates that he was born in 1851, but family research indicates that he was born in 1850.)
He emigrated in 1863 from Preussen (Prussia).⁴ The 1900 Census for his brother Carl indicates that Carl emigrated in 1863; family records indicate 1864. It is assumed that all of the family came to America together. After 1871 he was a tavern owner in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.^6,12 William appeared in the census in 1880 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.³ His household consisted of William; his wife, Albertina; their daughter, Minna; their son, Ferdinand; and their daughter, Matilda. (His surname was listed as "Wage.") He died on 14 January 1882 at the age of 31.^6,13 He was chasing a pig on a very hot day. He stopped to drink a lot of cold water, and died on the spot.

The Tomah Journal newspaper contained the following article, dated February 11, 1882: "Wm. Waggie, who has been sick for some time, died last week." It is not known whether this was Johann "William" Waege. He was buried in 1882 in Dorset Ridge, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.^1,6 in the Immanuel German Lutheran Church Cemetery near Kendall.

Johann Wilhelm Gottlieb "William" WAEGE and Albertina C. SCHWARTZ were married in 1871 in Dakota, Winona County, MN.^6,12 Albertina C. SCHWARTZ, daughter of Johann Wilhelm Friedrich SCHWARTZ and Wilhelmine SCHRAP, was born on 29 September 1854 in Lomira, Dodge County, WI.^3,14 (In the 1880 Census, her name is spelled "Albertena.") She appeared in the census in 1860 in Lomira, Dodge County, WI.¹⁵ She appeared in the census in 1870 in Lomira, Dodge County, WI.¹⁶ Albertina appeared in the census in 1880 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.³ She appeared in the census in 1900 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴ She died on 2 October 1947 at the age of 93 in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.^1,14 Albertina was buried in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁷ in the St. Paul's German Lutheran Cemetery.
