Wilhelm Christoph ZELLMER was born on 19 July 1787 in Jankendorf, Kreis Kolmar, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).13,14,15,16 (His birth year was listed as 1812 in the Edwin Zellmer article in the Monroe County Heritage Book. His surname was spelled "Zelmer" in the church marriage records of his son Wilhelm.)

. About 1810 he was a master tailor in Jankendorf, Kreis Kolmar, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).17 He appeared in the census in 1860 in Lebanon Township, Dodge County, WI.18 He and his wife and their son Julius were living in the household of their daughter Anna Louise and her family. He was listed as "C. Sillman," age 78. Wilhelm died before 1870 at the age of 83.1,13,16,19 He was not listed with his wife during the 1870 Census, and it is assumed that he had died before then. He may have died in Lebanon Township, Dodge County, WI.

Wilhelm Christoph ZELLMER and Anna Gustina Auguste "Justine" MEIER were married on 26 November 1833.1,16,20,21,22,23 (According to an article in the Monroe County Heritage Book, they were married in 1830 and had twelve children. Dean Zellmer's research indicates that there were nine children, of which only five survived to adulthood.) Anna Gustina Auguste "Justine" MEIER was born on 10 December 1813 in Jankendorf, Kreis Kolmar, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).1,16,19,20,24 (Her birth date may have been 10 Nov 1812.) She appeared in the census in 1860 in Lebanon Township, Dodge County, WI.18 She appeared in the census in 1870 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.25 She was the Head of Household, and her sons William and Julius were living with her. Justine appeared in the census in 1880 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.19 She was living with her son William and his family. She died on 6 March 1882 at the age of 68 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.1,16,20,24,26 (The church burial records list her date of death as 6 March 1882, and her date of burial as 8 March 1882. Other sources indicate that she died in 1881.) She was buried on 8 March 1882 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.24,27 in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Dean's research indicates that there were seven children from his first marriage, of which only two survived to adulthood. Further research is needed to separate the children into the proper families.)
