He appeared in the census in 1840 in North Haven, New Haven County, CT.¹³⁷ He appeared in the census in 1850 in Millbury, Worcester County, MA.¹³⁸ Leverett appeared in the census in 1860 in Bristol, Hartford County, CT.¹³⁹ He appeared in the census in 1870 in Lowell, Kent County, MI.²⁵⁴ His occupation was listed as "Pastor of Congregational Church." Also living in his home was Sarah Hercules, age 29, a "Domestic Servant." He appeared in the census in 1880 in Plymouth, Litchfield County, CT.²⁵⁵ His occupation was "Congregational Minister." Three "Boarders" lived with his family, one of whom was a "Servant." His home was located in "Terryville." Leverett appeared in the census in 1900 in Middlebury, New Haven County, CT.²⁵⁶ His occupation was "Clergyman." Before 1903 he was in Terryville, Plymouth Township, Litchfield County, CT.²⁵ He was the Pastor of the Terryville Congregational Church. He died on 10 April 1903 at the age of 65 in Middlebury, New Haven County, CT.^{25,31,135,253,257} Obituary Notes: "Rev. Leverett S. Griggs, for many years pastor of the Terryville Congregational church, died at his home in Middlebury yesterday, the result of a paralytic shock. He was born in North Haven February 16, 1838, his father being at that time pastor of the Congregational church there.

He leaves a wife, six children, John Cornelius Griggs, Ph. D., of New York; Henry Little Griggs, Yale, 1904; Jessie Leveretta, Alice Warner, Katherine Charlotte, and Susan Little Griggs." Leverett was buried in Terryville, Plymouth Township, Litchfield County, CT.^253,258 in the Hillside Cemetery.

Reverend Leverett Stearns GRIGGS Jr. (~) (!) and Cornelia LITTLE were married on 13 July 1864 in Madison, Madison Township, Jefferson County, IN.^{53,86,253,256,257,259} He was the pastor of a Congregational Church in Lowell, Michigan in 1870, his first two children were born in Minnesota, and he returned to Terryville to become pastor of the Congregational Church there from 1874 to 1887. His father, Leverett Griggs Sr. was a Pastor for fifty years.

The 1900 Census indicated that they had 7 children, of whom 6 were living at the time.
