He appeared in the census in 1920 in Carbon County, MT.272 His household was located in Township 5 South, Range 20 East. His occupation was "Farmer, Own Farm." He appeared in the census in 1930 in Roberts, Carbon County, MT.265 His household was in the Roberts School District #23. His occupation was listed as "Secretary, Farmer's Union." Jim lived in Luther, Carbon County, MT after 1933.418 He bought a ranch in Luther and his family lived there for many years. The ranch is now owned by Michael O'Shea. He appeared in the census in 1940 in Tony, Carbon County, MT.415 His occupation was "Farmer, Farm." (His birthplace was listed as the "Irish Free State.") He died on 12 December 1941 at the age of 68.62 Jim was buried in 1941 in Luther, Carbon County, MT.414,416 He and his wife are buried in the Tony Cemetery near their ranch.
