William Henry "Will" VROMAN (^) was born on 29 July 1870 in Oconomowoc, Waukesha County, WI.58,65,80 (Diana Morse' mother said that he was born in "Linden" Wisconsin.) He appeared in the census in 1880 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.66 He was living at the home of Jacob and Louisa E. Vandervoort, his maternal grandparents, He lived at the original family homestead in Kirby, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI after 1891. The William Henry Vroman home was originally the homestead of Jacob W. Vandervoort. Jacob was William Henry's maternal grandfather. The home is located in Monroe County, north and west of Tomah in the area that is known as Kirby. After the death of William Henry in 1949, the home was occupied by his son Frank Vroman until his death in 1969, and then it was sold. The original house is still standing, but it has been remodeled by the present owners. It was located next to the farm of Martin Vandervort. . Vroman. Died Last Monday. William Henry Vroman was born at Oconomowoc, Wis., on July 29, 1870, and passed away at St. Mary's Hospital at Sparta on Sept. 12, 1949, at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 15 days. On Feb. 1, 1891, he was united in marriage with Estella Lamb. Seven children were born to this union: Mrs. Milo Purdy, Tomah, Mrs. Perry Gorbet, Mrs. Riley Hart and Chester Vroman, Warrens, Mrs. Oscar Heser of Round Lake, Ill., Erwin Vroman of Milwaukee and Frank Vroman at home. Mr. Vroman is survived by his seven children, 26 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, three brothers and one sister. His wife preceded him in death on Dec. 2, 1944. Mr. Vroman lived his entire life at his home in Union Valley. Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Ninneman Funeral Home, the Rev. Harvey E. Schall officiating, Interment was in the LaGrange Cemetery." . Obituary Notes: "Mrs. Estella Vroman. Died Last Saturday. Mrs. Estella Vroman, nee Estella Lamb, was born in Monroe county, Wisconsin, on Nov. 18, 1875, and passed away on Dec. 2, 1944, at the age of 69 years, 14 days following a paralytic stroke. She had been in ill health for some time. On Feb. 1, 1891, she was united in marriage with William Vroman. Seven children were born to this union, Mrs. Milo Purdy, Tomah, Mrs. Perry Gorbet, Mrs. Riley Hart and Chester Vroman, Warrens, Mrs. Oscar Heser and Erwin Vroman, Chicago, and Frank at home. Mrs. Vroman is survived by her husband and seven children, 25 grandchildren, four great-grand- She had lived her entire life in this community. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon from the Ninneman Funeral Home, the Rev M. Z. Hovda officiating. Interment was in the LaGrange Cemetery."
