1. Ludwig SONNENBERG (^) was born on 6 October 1822 in Glombodge Houland-Goschlin, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).1,2,3,4,5,6,7 (His date of birth was listed as 6 Oct 1822 in his Death Registration, but as Nov 1824 in the 1900 Census.)

(His surname is spelled "Sonnenburg" in the cemetery records, but as "Sonnenberg" in the Monroe County Index to Early Deaths.)

(It is possible that Ludwig was related to Friedrich Sonnenburg, Sr., who was born in 1814 in Preussen and emigrated to America in 1873, settling in the Tunnel City, Greenfield Township area of Monroe County, WI.

Ludwig may also have been related to Friedrich Sonnenburg, Sr., who was born in 1822 in Preussen. Friedrich, Sr., emigrated to Monroe County in 1873 and also lived in the Greenfield Township area.

Ludwig Sonnenberg, Freidrich Sonnenburg and Friedrich Sonnenburg, Sr., accounted for all of the Sonnenberg and Sonnenburg families that lived in the Monroe County.)

He emigrated in 1882 from Preussen (Prussia).2,5 (His son Fred had emigrated in 1881, and Ludwig and his other son, Albert, emigrated in 1882. Ludwig lived initially in Buffalo, NY, and then moved to Wisconsin.) He appeared in the census in 1895 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.8 His household consisted of 1 male (Ludwig) and 1 female (Henriette), of whom both were born in Germany. (His surname was spelled "Sonenberg.") Ludwig appeared in the census in 1900 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.2 He was listed as a "Widower" and was living with his son Albert. He appeared in the census in 1905 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.9 He was living with his daughter Caroline and her family. He died of old age on 19 October 1906 at the age of 84 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.4,5,6 Ludwig was buried on 27 October 1906 in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.3,6,10 in the St. Paul's German Lutheran Church Cemetery. Henriette KLINGER (^), daughter of Andreas KLINGER and Anna Johanna TISCHLER, was born on 18 April 1834 in Padayewo, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).5,6 (The German translation of Klinger is "Cliff Dweller.") (Her death certificate lists her maiden name as "Hennerick Klinge.") She emigrated on 8 May 1882 from Bremen, Neidersachsen (Lower Saxony) Province, Preussen (Prussia).12 Their ship landed in New York City. She appeared in the census in 1895 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.8 Henriette died on 2 May 1900 at the age of 66 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.2,5,6 She was buried in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.6,10 in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
